Sassy Strawberry Shortcake

Hey everyone! Check out this sassy little cake... It's cute, it's fun... and way easy to make!
I started off with my prize winning red velvet marble cake! Bet you've never seen it like this before.

In step 2 I put a layer of whipped buttercream icing, a thin layer of strawberry gel and thinly sliced strawberries.

TIP: Don't over do it with the gel filling because the weight of the top layer will cause gel to ooze and ruin a perfectly beautiful creation!!

In  Step 3: I added a layer of whipped icing. This acts as a "glue" and is vital because not only will too much gel ooze... it will also cause your layers to shift and well... and that's no fun!

In Step 4: I added my top layer which was a super moist red velvet cake. This is topped with a thin layer of whipped icing and gel, and then strawberry halves on top.

In Step 5: I add a beautiful fluffy border

In Step 6: I added beautiful chocolate covered strawberries. Drizzled with white "ready icing" and here's where the Sassy gets topped off. I added silver edible dragees and voila!!!

ALMOST TOO PRETTY TO EAT!!!

P.S. A cake like this doesnt have to be for Valentines day... it makes a great Sunday Dessert for the family or for any other special Occasion, but my motto is "Everyday is an Occasion!!" This was actually a birthday cake I made for my cousin and his "special lady"
